In September, the online services for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood will be shut down on PC, PS3 and Microsoft's console. It is part of a collection of over a dozen games that will see their online elements discontinued that month, which means players won't be able to play their online components, access their online features, link their accounts in-game, or install and access DLC.

The online services for some older games were closed in order to focus on delivering great experiences for players who are playing newer or more popular titles. It has had almost a dozen years of online support since it was first released. It is always sad to see a piece of gaming history become unavailable, especially since the game was not included in the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch remasters.

After almost 12 years of support

The online services associated with Brotherhood, as well as 2012'sAssassin's Creed 3 on PC, PS3 and Wii U, are being shut down. We contacted the company to clarify something.

The games that have been affected by the shutdowns seem to be the ones with a multi-player element.

Driver San Francisco, Far Cry 3, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, and Prince of Persia the Forgotten Sands are some of the games that will have their online services discontinued in September. You can find a list of games on the help page.
