The Morning After: Xiaomi's flagship phone has a Leica camera with a massive one-inch sensor

Six months after its last flagship launch, the Chinese company has announced another one. The Sony IMX989 main sensor is one inch in size. TheXiaomi 12S Ultra uses the entire one-inch sensor. Is the camera unit involved? It looks like a big deal.

There are three rear cameras in the camera system: a 50.3-megapixel main camera, a 13mm ultra-wide camera and a 48mm ultra- wide camera. The Sony IMX586 sensor is used in both cameras. The camera island has a special coating to reduce lens glare. There is also a 23K gold rim. It's because of excess.

Pre-ordering theXiaomi 12S Ultra in China is now open. The price of the 12S Ultra is around $950.

Over the years, it has spread its bets. Chinese phone makers are quick to work with renowned photographers. In the late 1980's and early 90's, Vivo and Zeiss formed a partnership, and in the late 1980's and early 90's, Oppo and OnePlus formed a partnership.

The result has meant better smartphone cameras from these companies looking to go toe-to-toe with the phones.
