The GOP nominee for Illinois governor who was endorsed by Donald Trump suggested in a video after the shooting that people celebrate the independence of this nation.
He suggested praying for the families of the victims as people waved campaign signs for Bailey.
The politician apologized if in any way they lessened the pain being felt across the state.
The pain and loss felt by so many is heartbreaking. I intended to pray for the victims and those affected by today's tragedy and for the shooter to be caught and prosecuted without further loss.
Vice reported on Monday that Bailey's team held a charity event in 2020 with a chance to win a semi-automatic rifle.
