The Supreme Court decided last month to overturn a 50-year-old ruling that legalized abortion.

As reproductive health clinics close their doors, forcing people to travel thousands of miles out of state to the nearest center, organizations and social media users are calling for the 4th of July to be canceled.

The executive director of the independent abortion clinic said that the decision was a brutal defeat. The foundation of this right has been rejected.

The 4th of July is being protested by activists and people. Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights called for protests and actions around the country and local chapters organized events over the weekend.

Coco Das, a volunteer with the organization's Austin chapter, said that there was a protest outside of Austin's downtown Buford tower on Saturday. The group People For Pro-Choice was planning a protest at the Texas Capitol.

Rise Up and affiliated groups planned to hold a number of rallies on July 4th.

There is a lot of anger and sentiment out there. Millions of people are not in a celebratory mood this weekend, so they can either channel that into protest or not. I think people will respond to the protests that are going on.

The July 4th abortion right protests have been prescribed by Rise Up. In DC, rallygoers planned to use red white and blue items and articles of clothing to wear around their mouths like gags or tie their wrists with red white and blue fabric, and march at the US Supreme Court.

The Coalition for Labor Union Women is a group consisting of union members. All retail goods should be boycotted throughout the weekend because of Bans off our Bodies.

Coalition for Labor Union Women, which describes itself as focused on rights of women in the workplace, planned a voting campaign that would be pro-union, pro-choice.

Bryant wants all women to have the right to control their bodies.

13 states had laws in place that would take effect after the reversal of the Supreme Court's decision on abortion. The laws that would ban or further restrict abortion are in the process of taking effect.
