In the wake of a mass shooting at an Independence Day parade in suburban Chicago that left at least six people dead and wounded 24 others, the Chicago WhiteSox canceled their fireworks celebration on Monday.

There will be a moment of silence before the start of the game between Chicago and Minnesota. There is a guaranteed rate field.

The hearts of the community are with them. The entire Chicago White Sox organization expresses its deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the innocent victims of today's horrible shooting.

Hundreds of marchers, parents with strollers and children on bicycles fled in terror when a masked man opened fire at the parade.

The shooter remained on the loose hours later as authorities scoured the area. People were urged to shelter in place as authorities searched for the suspect.

Christopher Covelli of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force said that several of the deceased victims died at the scene and one died at the hospital. The victims or wounded have not been disclosed by police. Covelli said at the news conference that the shooter used a high-powered rifle to shoot from atop the building. The rifle was found at the scene.
