In Star Wars shows, the passage of time has always been a little weird, since shows like Clone Wars or Rebels are set during specific periods of time. It was set over a few days or weeks at most, which is crazy considering how much actually goes on. The next live-action series in the saga, called Andor, will cover five years of time for the Rebel spy, all the way up to where we meet him in the movie. It is going to cover them in a way that is unevenly.

About five years before the events ofRogue One, the first season of Andor will cover a year in the life of Cassian, who was an officer in the Rebellion. It will use the same amount of episodes to cover four years.

The scale of the show is so large, according to Gilroy in a new interview. We did four blocks of three episodes in the first season. We looked at it and thought it would be interesting if we came back. It is exciting to be able to work on something where you do a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and then jump a year.

It is going to be fascinating to see how Andor handles such a large amount of time. The tone may change one set of episodes to another. How much will we see of these moments and what will happen between that and the end of the show? We aren't going to get to see that quite yet, but it's intriguing. It looks like time will tell.

The first season of Andor will be on Disney+.
