There is a feature in the latest software update that may prevent a lot of underbody damage. The update will allow the vehicles to adjust the suspension to account for rough roads, according to the release notes.

The feature can be activated by selecting "Comfort" under the settings. The feature may not be available for every road crack because it depends on where the vehicle is being driven. The release states that the adjustment may occur at various locations as the vehicle downloads rough road map data from the car.

Notably, the software update is not applicable to Autopilot or Full Self-Driving

The vehicle won't try to steer around or avoid road damage due to the software update. According to Musk, the company is working on a system that uses 3D labeling to create potholes, but that feature is still being developed. Automatic suspension adjustments are not a bad thing. A lot of vehicle damage could be avoided if this was in place.

A green light chime is included in the update. We were trapped behind someone who was paying more attention to their phone than the traffic signal. It is possible that this new feature will help eliminate incidents of road rage or at least reduce the likelihood that you will get hit by a car.

The green light feature only works with vehicles that are equipped with the self-driving computer, according to Electrek. The chime is only used as a notification. The driver is responsible for observing their environment and making decisions based on it.
