An Apple Watch Series 8 model with a larger display is being worked on by Apple, according to two analysts.

The Apple Watch Series 8 could come in three display sizes, according to Young. According to Young, the additional display size will be 1.99-inch in size.

In a note to investors, analyst Jeff Pu mentioned that Apple supplier Luxshare would be the sole supplier for a high-end Apple Watch model this year. The 1.99-inch display size was rounded up by Pu.

The 41mm Apple Watch Series 7 and the 45mm Apple Watch Series 7 have different display sizes. The 45mm Apple Watch Series 7 is almost five percent larger than the new display size.

There is a chance that the larger display size is related to the rumored redesign of the Apple Watch Series 8. The Apple Watch Series 7 will feature a rounded design similar to the Apple Watch Series 6, according to the leaker known asShrimpApplePro. It's possible that an Apple Watch design with flat edges would feature a slightly larger flat top surface area, which would explain the increase in display size.

Young and Pu's claims could be related to rumors about this year's "rugged" Apple Watch model, which is expected to join the Apple Watch lineup. Flagship Apple Watches have historically only ever been offered in two size options, so a third, larger display size could correlate with a new, additional Apple Watch " Explorer Edition" variant.
