The Golden State Warriors are rumored to be interested in acquiring disgruntled Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant, but it doesn't seem like a reunion is in the works.

According to Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic, the Warriors are not the type of team that would be willing to pay Brooklyn's asking price.

According to multiple sources in the Warriors organization, a reunion is not likely. The Warriors haven't paid the price for a KD return in the last three years.

The NBA didn't know what to make of the signing of Kevin Durant to the Warriors. The rest of the league couldn't keep up with the additions of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

The Warriors won two titles in the three years that KD was on the team. He signed with the Nets after becoming a free agent, which hasn't played out the way he expected.

The Boston Celtics swept the Brooklyn Nets out of the playoffs this year. The Golden State Warriors won their fourth championship in eight years.

Last week, he requested to be traded from the Nets. The star point guard is likely to be dealt this year.

Thompson said that the Warriors' locker room leaders would welcome him back to the team if given the chance. He said that KD has been in touch with some of his former teammates.

Thompson wrote that the Warriors superstars have been talking to KD. The peers who are bound for the Hall of Fame entertained the idea of a reunion. It was mostly about the beauty of it.

The most anticipated event of the NBA's off-season will likely not happen soon. The Nets will take their time to find the right deal if Adrian Wojnarowski's report is to be believed.
