Bonfiglio, who built up a chain of restaurants in North Jersey and other areas, died Friday. He was older than the age of 62.

He and his family opened two restaurants in the last two years and their inventory of restaurants more than tripled during the swine flu epidemic.

He had three restaurants at the beginning of the Pandemic in 2020 and had 10 by the middle of last year, after moving his businesses into restaurants that had closed.

Bonfiglio said in an interview that he saw it as an opportunity.

The restaurants are a family business with his wife and two daughters heavily involved along with other family members.

The family also runs Tommy's Tavern + Tap restaurants in Sea Bright, Freehold Township, Staten Island, and Parsippany, as well as Tio taco + Tequila Bar restaurants in Marlboro and Edison.

The funeral home is handling the arrangements Bill Boglioli is the owner of the home. The death notice stated that Bonfiglio died at the hospital. There was no cause of death.

According to a biography on his law firm's website, Bonfiglio kept his law practice going. He was an attorney and a CPA for 30 years before he retired. He graduated from Brooklyn Law School with a degree in business administration.

In an interview a few years ago, Bonfiglio said that he and his wife moved to New Jersey in 1992 after having their first child.

Bonfiglio was excited about a new career in the restaurant business, despite his love for legal work.

He and his wife were partners in a restaurant in Sea Bright. Pizza was brought to the Jersey Shore by him in 2009, he said. He opened a Tommy's Tavern in Sea Bright because he wanted a lot of different things.

He was an attorney for thirty years. I loved my job. I'm enjoying it.

Bonfiglio worked as an attorney for a long time but said he loved being in the restaurant business with his family. In last year's interview, he said that his daughters both work in the business as marketing officers.

He said it all boiled down to family. It is not motivated by money. It is an extension of our home.
