Noem wouldn't say if she would change the law to allow a rape victim to get an abortion.
CNN's Dana Bash asked Noem on Sunday if a 10-year-old girl in Ohio would have to travel to Indiana to get an abortion. I wanted you to be clear that this was passed before you became governor. Will the state of South Dakota force a 10 year old to have a baby?
In cases where the life of the mother is at risk, South Dakota doesn't allow abortions. The Supreme Court overturned the abortion law.

What I think is incredible, Dana, in this story? Last night, I heard about this. Noem said that nobody is talking about the person who raped a 10-year-old.
The discussion should be about what can be done to protect children from abuse.
"As much as we can talk about what we can do for that little girl, I think we also need to be addressing those sick individuals that do this to our children."
Bash agreed. She asked Noem if she would change the South Dakota law to protect young girls from having to carry out a pregnancies.
Women are the ones who get pregnant. This was not a woman. She said it was a female. Is she going to have a child? A young person. She should have a baby.
Noem said that every life is worth something.
The tragedy is terrible. I can't think of a better way to describe it. I've never had anyone in my family go through this. She said she couldn't imagine. In South Dakota, abortions are illegal unless the mother's life is in danger.
She said she wouldn't be ok with a 10-year-old girl having a baby.
That story will keep me awake. Noem didn't say if she would change the law.
It's up to the doctor to decide if a girl's life is at risk from having a baby.
I don't think a tragedy should be perpetuated by another tragedy. "We have to do more to make sure that we really are living a life that says every life is precious, especially innocent lives that have been shattered, like that 10-year-old girl."
