Zhou Guanyu, Alex Albon sent for medical checks after huge F1 collision at British GP

Zhou and Albon were taken to the medical center by emergency crews. Zhou was released from the medical centre during the race and will be transferred to a hospital for precautionary checks.

Pierre Gasly was pinched between George Russell on one side and Zhou on the other, with contact between Gasly and Russell throwing the Mercedes of Russell into Zhou's Alfa.

Zhou's car was sent upside down through the run-off area by the second impact, only to be stopped by the catch fence in front of the race track.

Just moments after Albon hit the brakes for the initial crash, Sebastian Vettel hit the back of his Williams. The collision pushed Albon into the pit wall, before he came back onto the track and hit the other two.

While Zhou, Albon and Russell were out of the race on the spot, Ocon and Gasly were able to return to the pits.

The race was stopped as the leaders headed onto the Wellington Straight.

Protesters broke onto the track after the crashes.

The race was stopped at 3:56pm.
