Independence Day is celebrated by getting as far away from the sun as possible before sunrise. The sun rises at 0 700GMT.

Chris Vaughan, an amateur astronomer with SkySafari Software who oversees Space.com's Night Sky calendar, states that Earth will be close to the sun at aphelion.

The mean Earth-sun separation is known as an astronomy unit. It is equivalent to 142 million km.

There are planets in the July night sky.

It can be hard to imagine Earth far away from the sun on a hot summer's day, but seasonal temperature variations arise from the varying direction of Earth's tilt. If the sun's rays hit Earth at a low angle or more directly, the angle of the tilt affects it.

It will be close to the sun on January 4, 2023, when it will be 91.4 million miles away.

There is a reason why we experience aphelion and perihelion. Our planet's degree of deviation from a perfect circle is called its eccentricity. Venus is the most circular of the planets in the sun. According to Universe Today, the planet can be found between 66 million miles and 69 million miles from the sun.
