The governors of Virginia and Maryland responded to a letter from the Supreme Court's top-ranking security official asking them to use police and law enforcement to prevent picketing at justices' homes.

The governor agrees with the marshal that there has been an increase in threatening activity outside the Justices' home.

The statement said that the marshal of the supreme court wanted Fairfax County to enforce state law.

Youngkin urged Attorney General Garland to enforce the federal law.

On TWITTER, the left said "burn this country to the ground."

The statement said that the U.S. marshals should be involved while the justices are denied the right to live in their homes.

Curley requested that the Maryland State Police enforce laws that prohibit picketing outside of the homes of Supreme Court Justices who reside in the state.

Two months ago, Governor Hogan and Governor Youngkin sent a letter to Attorney General Garland asking him to enforce the clear and unambiguous federal statutes that prohibit picketing at judges' residences. The Department of Justice declined to enforce the laws after an assassination attempt on Justice Kavanaugh.

A new federal official is writing to us with conflicting information. The constitutionality of the statute cited in her letter has been questioned by the Maryland Attorney General's office.

In light of the continued refusal by federal entities to act, Hogan has instructed Maryland State Police to further review law enforcement options.

The Department of Justice has been urged by Hogan and Youngkin to enforce the federal statute prohibiting protests, pickets and intimidation outside the home of judges.

Under federal law, attempting to influence a judge's ruling is against the law. The Justice Department has refused to interfere with protesters outside the homes of several Supreme Court justices.

The justices' homes have been provided with security by the DOJ, but protests and picketing have continued unimpeded.
