A group of fans spotted something wrong with a photo that showed the 1993 movie running on a McDonald's kiosk. It's almost certainly not a real thing.
The saga began on Thursday when a user posted a picture of a hacked kiosk at a fast food restaurant. The user claimed that someone had installed the program on a small device that was plugged into the screen at the bottom.
An astute observer pointed out in the original thread that the photo may have been edited.
The user posted a fake image from an old thread. The picture shows the same kiosk with the same people in the background, but this time with a blue screen of death.
Fans of the game don't have to mourn because players love running the game in places it doesn't belong. The fact-checking thread has a video that would make it hard to fake.
Everyone's need to see Doom on a fast food screen was fulfilled by the former McDonalds manager. I did this on one of the Mcdonald's tills at the time.
There is a video that shows the demon-blasting shooter on a cashier's till. The fake was disappointing but the short clip made us happy.
Former McDonalds manager here. This is something I actually did back in 2020 on one of the McDonald’s tills on the front counter. pic.twitter.com/5p4g9IrjRi
