The Supreme Court's recent decision to overturn abortion rights was criticized by Jon Stewart.
He said on the show that the Supreme Court is the Fox News of justice.
There is no consistency "States can't regulate guns, but they can regulateuteruses?"
He said the decision to overturn was not based on any kind of reasoned debate or philosophy.
Protests were sparked by the decision to overturn the abortion law. A number of prominent individuals have blasted the ruling since it was made public. Garland said that the court's decision was a blow to reproductive freedom in the United States.
On Thursday, Stewart added to the blowback.
"It is a cynical pursuit in the same way that Fox News would come out with 'we're fair and balanced' under the auspices of what would be a high-status pursuit to the betterment of society, journalism," he said. They're a political arm.
He was against the confirmation process.
He said that if this were about debate, then they would understand what perjury meant.
Susan Collins and Joe Manchin felt misled by the justices during their individual confirmation hearings. The two senators, both pro-choice, voted to confirm the two judges because they were assured that they believed in the legality of abortion.
The two judges voted to strike down the abortion law.
Stewart is not the only one who has spoken out against the justice confirmation process.
It is an impeachable offense for a Supreme Court justice to lie under oath.
