There was a large hole in the side of the A380 when it arrived at the airport.

It is thought that the damage may have occurred before the plane arrived in Australia.

The A380 took off from the airport at 2:30 am on Friday, but the pilots told air traffic control in Australia that they had suffered a suspected blown tire and needed to make an emergency landing.

The doubledeck aircraft got stuck on the runway after landing. The emergency services found a large hole in the root of the plane.

After flying low and fast over a densely populated and high-rise area of Dubai in December of 2021, the plane gained altitude over the Arabian gulf.

The initial reports suggested the pilots tried to take off with the altitude set to zero feet, but the Captain claims she spotted the mistake before they left. The pilot's account has been supported by accident investigators.

Analysts questioned why the aircraft was allowed to continue on its flight to Washington DC instead of being checked over for damage.

A second plane operated by the same airline started to speed down the runway for takeoff without first getting clearance from air traffic control.

After reaching 130 knots of indicated airspeed, the pilots rejected the takeoff. The flight was cleared to leave 30 minutes later after it taxied back to the airfield.

The A380 that was involved in the accident is on the ground in Australia. The A6-EVK is painted in a special livery which celebrates a new ring-shaped building in the center of Dubai.
