The executive committee of the South Carolina Republican Party voted to overturn the protest of the District 17 election result.

The winner of the primary will face a democrat in the general election.

After winning his appeal, he said he felt like justice had been done. The voters who spoke on June 14 regained their faith in us.

Two employees of the Elections Office spoke to precautions taken to ensure fair elections in District 17 and across the county at the hearing.

Chambers said to protect the voters. No mistake is made in this process that adds up to 132 votes.

He didn't attend the meeting and called it illegal.

"We have a major problem here." It is very specific.

He said he was waiting to see if the Election Commission ordered a new primary before taking any further action.

Tensions rose last week between state and county party leaders.

The GOP is considering reversing the primary in the state of South Carolina.

The state executive committee has until July 2 to hear appeals, according to a state GOP spokesman.

Twice during Thursday's hearing, Davis tried to ask about the deadline, but he was shut down by the state GOP Chairman who said his questions weren't relevant to the witnesses.

The June 14 primary resulted in a loss for Dill. There were issues with voting machines and poll workers not being sworn in correctly.

There have been no written complaints from voters about the District 17 race, and Belangia was surprised to hear about the issues with voting machines.

Belangia said that it was news to him. We didn't know of any issues with calibration.

Thursday's hearing was prompted by the county GOP's decision to appeal.
