After agreeing to a contract with the Golden State Warriors, Donte DiVincenzo is moving.

The Warriors will pay DiVincenzo $9.3 million over the course of two years. There is a player option in the second year.

DiVincenzo became an unrestricted free agent when the Kings did not extend him a contract. His time with the Kings didn't seem to end on a positive note.

DiVincenzo and his camp were unhappy with the way the Kings managed his minutes and didn't start him down the stretch in an attempt to lower his value.

DiVincenzo was acquired by the Kings in a four-team trade that also included the Pistons and Clippers.

Prior to the 2020-21 season, the Kings coveted DiVincenzo. The sign-and-trade deal between Milwaukee and the Kings fell apart due to tampering violations that resulted in Milwaukee losing a second-round draft pick in the process.

In 25 games with the Kings, DiVincenzo averaged more minutes per game (26.6) than he did at the start of the season (20.1). He played less than 20 minutes in back-to-back games on March 9 and 12 but played more than 30 minutes in the rest of the season.

In the NBA, DiVincenzo has proved to be a good role player. The 25-year-old averaged 9.8 points and 5.3 rebound per game in 132 appearances over the course of the next two seasons. He made less than 40 percent of his three point attempts.

The situation with the Kings made last season difficult for DiVincenzo. He missed the first two months of the season because of an ankle injury he sustained in the playoffs.

After playing in three games, DiVincenzo injured his ankle in the warm-up before a game against the New Orleans Pelicans. He missed a few games before coming back.

Going forward, the Warriors hope to get the healthy DiVincenzo. He played in a situation with the Kings that he didn't like and no one should draw any conclusions from that.
