Team USA Wins Icons Series Golf Behind Ben Roethlisberger, Michael Phelps

Team USA won the golf tournament at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey.

Four-ball and singles events were held on the second day. Team USA held a six-point lead at the halfway point thanks to wins from the pairs of J.R. Smith/Golden Tate, Ben Roethlisberger/Michael Phelps, andRobbie Gould/ Andrew Whitworth.

The window for a comeback was still open.

Ash Barty helped eat into the deficit.

The United States won the first singles match as Roethlisberger defeated Harry Kane. The host squad was going to show a lot of strength.

Team USA coasted to a 10-point victory.

The best shot of the day was fired by John Smoltz. He hit his tee shot on the 10th hole, which is a par three.

Part of the reason for the 3-up win on Ricky Ponting was because of those shots. He was on top of his game with the putter.

Roethlisberger and Smoltz were the only ones to lose in the singles round. Gould had the largest margin of victory in the match.

Perhaps the most star- studded clash was that of the swimmer. The boxer was 1-up on his opponent.

Having conquered the pool, it might be a good idea for him to look for a tour card.

Roethlisberger was very good at Liberty National. Now that he's retired, there's likely a lot more golf to be played by him.
