Fournier may have played his last game for the Knicks.

The veteran shooting guard is being discussed in trade talks. Before and after the draft, the Knicks had been talking about possible deals for Fournier.

Some members of the Knicks organization have concerns about the backcourt of Fournier and Brunson, which was signed to a four-year, $104 million deal on Thursday.

The franchise is looking to move Fournier, who has a cap hit of $18 million for the 2022-23 season and won't become a free agent until 25 years later. If the Frenchman's club option is declined, he could become a free agent.

Fournier was sent to the Knicks by the Celtics in a sign- and-trade deal. The 29-year-old averaged 17.1 points, 3.0 rebound, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals, while shooting 45.7 percent from the floor and 41.3 percent from deep.

Fournier shot 41.7 percent from the floor and 38.9 percent from deep while playing for the Knicks during the 2021-22 season.

Fournier didn't make the situation any better for the Knicks when it came to defense. It wouldn't bode well for the franchise next season if they put him with someone who isn't a defender.

It's not clear which team will be interested in acquiring Fournier this summer. The Knicks tried to trade him back to the Celtics according to John Gambadoro.

Knicks have offered Evan Fournier's contract into an exception that Boston has in order to free up enough space to sign Jalen Brunson.

The Celtics created a $17.1 million traded player exception when they shipped Fournier to the Knicks. It's not clear if the C's would be interested in a reunion after the acquisition of Malcolm Brogdon.

After clearing waivers with the San Antonio Spurs, Boston is set to sign another player.

If the Knicks can find a trade partner for Fournier, they will likely be the team's leading shooting guards next season unless they add another player.
