The internet's most famous meme can be played on your Nintendo Switch. Zero Wing, which features the classic line "all your base are belong to us" during its introductory cutscene, is now available to play on the Sega Genesis app.
Nintendo knows about the meme. In a video announcing the arrival of Zero Wing and three other games to the service, Nintendo leads with the space shooter and features a lot of quotes from its bad translation. There are patches of intensely flickering lights in the Zero Wing section of the video and the game.
Is this meme still relevant?
I don't know if "all your base are belong to us" is still relevant or if it's just something we old-timers can point to when reminiscing about days gone by. Ars Technica wrote a nice piece about the meme a year ago, but it reminded me that the meme is more than 20 years old. I don't know what to say.
Comix Zone, Mega Man: The Wily Wars, and Target Earth have been added.
