The LA Clippers have agreed to a two-year, $13.2 million deal with guard John Wall.
After exercising the player option for the final year of his contract, Wall agreed to a $6.5 million buyout with the Houston Rockets.
Houston and Wall decided to part ways last season in the early stages of a rebuild.
After missing the previous season and a half due to injury, Wall averaged 20.6 points and 6.9 assists in 40 games for the Houston Rockets in 2020-21. He trained on his own in Miami for the rest of the season, even though he spent part of last season with the Houston.
After spending the first 11 years of his career with the Washington Wizards, he was traded to Houston in December 2020 in exchange for a future first-round pick.
Wall, who has career averages of 19.1 points and 9.1 assists, would fill the Clippers' need for a playmaker on a team that has championship ambitions, with Kawhi Leonard returning after missing the 2021-22 season while recovering from a partially tornACL in his right knee Reggie Jackson was the starting point guard for the Clippers last season, when they went 42-40 and were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.
