It is the perfect symbol of anyone who is moving to Brooklyn. You show up, tell your friends back home that you are a New York hotshot, but never really accomplish anything. After a couple or three years, you realize New York is too much of a hassle and life would be much easier elsewhere. Everyone experiences that experience in Brooklyn. Now it's Kevin's. As a whole, it is the Nets.
With the added feature of realizing he can't put up with the horsehit of a co-worker, KD is able to. Irving opted back in for the last year of his deal just this week, and it's funnier for everyone to think that he chose to leave as soon as possible. The reality is that Irving is only going to stick around for one more season to collect his $37 million, knowing no other team wanted to put up with him, and he will pick his next destination after the season. Irving isn't in for the long haul so why should he be with the team?
The ownership of this is also owned by the player. The Nets were turned from a loudmouth ne'er do well that called a lot of attention to itself with nothing to show for it. They couldn't get on the court for more than six minutes a month so it didn't work.
One can't help but notice that among Durant's leading preferences...
Was the amount of research done by KD just looking at the regular season?
We know that he has done this before. He ended up on the greatest team of all-time, the 73-WIN Warriors, without him. He received a lot of praise for his role in helping the Dubs win the Finals without him. The gold medal he won in Tokyo is one of his biggest accomplishments.
After trying to create his own power in Brooklyn, it didn't work, and now he's going back to the old way of finding one already constructed. He wants the baby to be free of labor pains. He isn't concerned at the moment, but the Suns and Heat would probably lose a lot to acquire KD. We will do all this again in two years if they are correct.
To be fair, he tried the hero thing. He wasn't able to beat the Bucks alone. He wasn't able to beat the Celtics on his own this year. Maybe that is all he needs for him. The new road is very easy to navigate.
Homer Simpson said that if something is hard to do it isn't worth it. For the first time in their history, the Nets were trying to make something special. The thing didn't work. He is going to run the last lap of the race. If you can get it, it's nice.
USC and UCLA are going to join the Big 10 in two years.
Is this the beginning of the end of the NCAA as we know it? The Big 10 and SEC can just ask, "Why don't we just have our twochampions play one another and that'll be the national champion?"
The NCAA only holds events and plan parties, and negotiates contracts for those, so why can't the two conferences do it for themselves? Allow them to negotiate their own deals. The NCAA deserves something.
