We had a flight from Nice to Sylt. We spent the night near the airport because we didn't want to go into the city. We decided to check out the Hyatt Regency The Circle at the airport.
Airport hotels are usually boring, but this one is one of my favorites. The Grand Hyatt San Francisco Airport is the only airport hotel that I enjoy more.
A standard room free night redemption costs 17,000-23,000 points per night at the Hyatt Regency Airport. I think World of Hyatt points are worth 1.5 cents each.
You can earn World of Hyatt points even if you aren't a Hyatt loyalist. World of Hyatt points can be earned with both the World of Hyatt Credit Card and the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card.
I paid cash for our stay. The price for our stay was 250 Swiss Francs. Switzerland isn't cheap, but that seems like a better deal than redemption points.
I will go out of my way to find an airport hotel that doesn't need a shuttle. The Hyatt Regency Airport is located in The Circle, which is connected to the airport by foot.
There is a huge new complex built next to the airport called The Circle.
The circle can be accessed from the arrivals area. You can exit baggage claim and walk across the street if you want to.
You will soon find a tunnel that leads to The Circle.
It feels like a high end outdoor shopping mall at the Circle complex. Everything from bakeries to jewelers can be found here.
You can see the entrance to the Hyatt Regency when you are in The Circle.
If you want to get to the lobby from this side, you have to take an elevator or staircase.
It is possible to enter from the other side of the airport without having to go up a level if you arrive by car.
There is a large lobby at the Hyatt Regency Airport. It was too warm for the fireplace to be turned on when we were there.
The check-in experience was excellent. We were upgraded to an executive suite after the associate thanked me for being a Globalist member.
There was no breakfast or evening happy hour at the Regency Club. Breakfast and evening drinks were served in the restaurant while the lounge was just a place to hang out.
There is an executive suite on the fourth floor. The lobby is on the second floor of a 10-floor hotel. It is not a simple wing in each direction of the elevators in the hallway. It was good that we were constantly referencing the signs.
The room in our executive suite was larger than 43 square meters and I am confused as to why it was marketed as 43 square meters. I feel like a lot of hotels exaggerate square footage or include outdoor space in calculations, but I think the room was at least 600 square feet.
Anyway, this suite was flawless, and was perhaps one of the most practically designed rooms I’ve ever stayed in. With so many hotel rooms I wonder if the person designing them has ever stayed in a hotel, but this room was very well thought out.
There was a large living room in the suite. There was a dining table with three chairs, a living room with an L shaped couch, and a stool. The TV was mounted on a wall.
There was a bottle of water, some sweets, and a handwritten card waiting for you on the living room table when you arrived.
There was a luggage rack at the back of the building.
There was a variety of drinks for sale at the minibar.
There was a half bath by the entrance.
The bedroom was separated from the living room by a door. The bedroom had a good king size bed, but I wish the pillows were bigger.
There was a luggage storage rack in the hallway.
There was a sink with a mirror, a huge shower, a bathtub, and a toilet in the bathroom.
Hyatt Regency's toiletries were from Pharmacopia.
The view of an inner courtyard was the only downside to the room. That meant there wasn't a lot of noise. It also restricted the amount of natural light that could be seen in the room.
It's an amazing suite for an airport hotel. The room had free wi-fi in it.
The Regency Club can be found on the ninth floor of the airport. The lounge doesn't currently offer breakfast or evening cocktails, but they do serve them in the restaurant.
The lounge is open throughout the day and is a great place to grab a soft drink, coffee, or water.
Whether you wanted a couch, booth, dining table, or a conference table, the Regency Club had plenty of seating. The terrace seems to have been closed during our visit.
The restaurant is located next to the lobby and is open all day. There was even outdoor seating at the restaurant, which was nicer than most airport hotels.
We weren't able to take advantage of the Regency Club cocktails and snacks because we were late. We went to the restaurant since we were hungry. Babel is a restaurant that we love and you can find the menu here.
We were given some delicious bread, dips, and veggies at the beginning of the meal.
The four things to share were spiced carrots, fattoush salad, and eggplant.
Breakfast is offered at Babel. It is available from 6:30AM until 10AM on Saturdays and Sundays. Breakfast included juice, pastries, veggies, cold cuts, a variety of yogurt, and bread.
There was a menu that you could order off of at no extra cost. Eggs could be ordered in any style, including almond waffles, peanut butter pancakes, cinnamon french toast, and so on.
One of my favorite breakfast dishes is shoshuka and I ordered a side of halloumi. It was really good. I didn't need anything from the buffet.
The Hyatt Regency has a market where you can get a snack or drink. We did not purchase anything here, but some may find this useful.
There is a gym and spa at the Hyatt Regency. There was a lot of modern equipment in the gym.
The spa area had a sauna, but it didn't seem like any treatments were being offered. Many people will enjoy the sauna.
When you stay at an airport hotel, it can be hard to get up in the morning. Terminal walking has limited appeal due to the fact that there aren't many nice areas nearby.
The park behind The Circle is a good place to get some steps in. On our full day there, we took the chance to walk around the city.
There is a water display and a funicular leading to the top of the park, which is pretty impressive.
I would love to return to the Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport. The hotel has an unbeatable location, luxurious rooms, a great restaurant, friendly service, and great nearby walking and shopping opportunities. What else do you want?
The Circle is a cool airport development, but it can't compete with The Jewel at Singapore Changi, which is always on a different level.
What did you think about your stay at the Hyatt Regency Airport?
