More young people will be allowed to live and work in the UK and New Zealand.

The Youth Mobility and Working Holiday schemes will be extended by the UK and New Zealand governments.

The age limit for applicants will go up from 30 to 35, and the maximum length of time people can stay in the host country will go from one year to three.

Similar deals have allowed young people to work and travel in Australia.

The move will give more young Brits and New Zealanders the chance to develop their skills, make life-long connections and contribute to their host country.

New Zealand has long advocated for improved working holiday visas.

Before entering politics, the leader of the New Zealand Labour Party lived in London.

She said she enjoyed living and working in the UK and would like to offer the same in New Zealand.

After the Nato summit in Madrid ended on Thursday, the prime ministers met at the office.

The pair would be discussing the free trade deal that was signed last year.

Mr Johnson praised the "very strong line" New Zealand was taking and Ms Ardern said: "We have also provided our military aid via our partnership with you."

There will be more information on the Youth Mobility and Working Holiday scheme next year.
