Vkusno i tochka is the first McDonald's in Russia to be renamed.
A reporter went to Vkusno i tochka in Moscow and said it didn't smell like a Mcdonald's.
The reporter said that Coke won't be available in Russia soon.
A reporter from a popular channel went to a Mcdonald's in Moscow and said the food and smell are different.
McDonald's was one of the American chains that shut down their operations in Russia. Alexander Govor, a Russian businessman, bought the fast food chain that operated in Russia for 30 years after the fall of the Soviet Union. Vkusno i tochka means "Tasty and that's it" and is the new name for the restaurants.
A reporter met with the owner of the restaurant to try a new dessert. The editor-in-chief of the privately owned television network is also the creator of Redaktsia.
The Redaktsia reporter says the smell inside the restaurant is different from a Mcdonald's smell. At a table of younger women, the reporter asks how the food is and if it's different from Mcdonald's food.
One of the girls tells the reporter that the chicken tastes better after three months of not eating.
The reporter asked Sysoev if it was his first time at Mcdonald's and he said the food packaging was different from the original. The reporter has a "grande" burger which is a rebranded version of the McDonald's "royal cheeseburger".
The reporter and Sysoev realized the Mcdonald's logo was marked out with a black marker when they went for the sweet and sour sauce. The logo was marked out on other packets of sauces.
The reporter was told the fries are the same.
The head of quality control for the restaurant says the potatoes for the fries are from Russia.
The CEO of Vkusno i tochka's says the restaurant gets most of its produce from Russia, but some of the ingredients come from other countries. He said that Russia doesn't have enough beef so it imports it from other countries.
The buns that were imported from the US are not the same. The buns at Vkusno i tochka are made from flour and water and don't have the same crunchiness.
Other people have told the reporter that the cola tastes weird. It is similar to Coke Zero, the version of Coke that does not have sugar.
Coke won't be available in Russia for a long time, according to the manager of Mcdonald's Telegram.
More than 200 restaurants will be reopened by the end of June. There were 850 Mcdonald's restaurants in Russia. The Russian restaurants can be bought back within 15 years.
