The Federal Communications Commission gave the green light for Starlink to send internet to moving vehicles.
Starlink has already signed deals with airlines to provide in-flight internet to passengers, and the greenlight means it can move forward.
Allowing a new class of terminals for SpaceX's satellite system will expand the range of broadband capabilities to meet the growing user demands that now require connection while on the move, whether driving an RV across the country, moving a freighter from Europe to a US port, or while on a domestic trip
Starlink uses a network of satellites to deliver broadband to users. It is intended to be able to reach customers in remote areas.
Starlink will be able to pursue more deals with transport companies. Starlink was requested by Royal Caribbean in June.
In May, Starlink launched a monthly subscription for RV's. The internet service was not available while the RV was moving.
The vice president of commercial sales for Starlink told attendees at a panel in March that the service has over 250,000 subscribers.
When contacted by Insider, the company did not reply immediately.
