There is a great promotion for joining the business rewards. This is the same promotion that we saw last year. If you have a business, this is an easy way to get airfare.

What is Emirates Business Rewards?

Few people are familiar with airline business rewards programs. Airline frequent flyer programs reward individuals regardless of who is paying for tickets, while airline business rewards programs are meant to reward businesses that book employees on that airline.

There is something great about these programs.

• They typically allow you to double dip, meaning you can earn both airline miles and business rewards program points
• In many cases even small businesses qualify for these accounts, so you don’t need to be running a big corporation to take advantage of this

The American Airlines Business Extra program is something I have written about a lot.

There is a version of a business rewards program.

• You can join no matter how many employees you have, as long as you have a registered company or organization
• There’s no cost to enroll
• You earn one Business Rewards point (separate from Skywards miles) for every dollar spent on Emirates airfare for you or any of your employees
• You can spend your Business Rewards points on flights and upgrades, though the award pricing is dynamic, and totally different than what you’d find through Emirates Skywards (Skywards has consistent award pricing that’s route-based)

To celebrate UN Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Day, you can get 10,000 bonus BusinessRewards points.

• To be eligible, register with the code EKBRUNSMEDAY22 (make sure you enter this code during the enrollment process)
• This is valid for sign-ups through July 10, 2022
• There’s not actually any travel required to qualify for the bonus

I was able to take advantage of this promo when it was offered in 2021, and it took just two minutes, since my details could be pre-populated with my Skywards account. It's possible that uploading a copy of your trade license is difficult, so make of that requirement. The points were posted to my account a few days after I joined.

The value of Emirates Business Rewards points

Is it possible to redeem business rewards points? A dynamic pricing model can be used to redeem points for flights.

Make sure you don't check the "my dates are flexible" option, because you will get an error message if you do.

How does the pricing work out? One-way flights are an example. Revenue pricing would look like this.

Here's what pricing looks like through the business rewards program.

The value you are getting is the fee you would pay with your ticket.

• For an economy class ticket, you’re redeeming 5,799 points for 710 AED (~$193) worth of airfare
• For a business class ticket, you’re redeeming 20,335 points for 2,490 AED (~$678) worth of airfare
• For a first class ticket, you’re redeeming 48,590 points for 5,950 AED (~$1,620) worth of airfare

You get 3.0 cents per point for the cost of airfare or an upgrade if you are a member of the business rewards program. If you sign up for an account with the business rewards program, you'll get 10,000 points that can be used for airfare.

You have to redeem points for a ticket. It is not possible to book a $500 ticket and get $300 off with business rewards.

Businesses that join the program will get 10,000 points. The sign-up bonus is quite nice and the points seem to post within a few days.

According to the award pricing of the business rewards program, each point gets you 3.0 cents towards the cost of a ticket for the airline. If you have any upcoming travel on the airline, that could be a great deal.
