You have to redeem points for a ticket. It is not possible to book a $500 ticket and get $300 off with business rewards.
Businesses that join the program will get 10,000 points. The sign-up bonus is quite nice and the points seem to post within a few days.
According to the award pricing of the business rewards program, each point gets you 3.0 cents towards the cost of a ticket for the airline. If you have any upcoming travel on the airline, that could be a great deal.
