The extension of Jokic's contract is the largest in NBA history, according to his agents.

The two-time reigning Most Valuable Player has agreed to a six-year, $303 million contract with the Nuggets.

There is a player option in the deal. When Jokic is set to make $61.5 million, the contract will start at $46.6 million.

Jokic, who was a second-round draft pick, has become one of the most important players in the history of the game.

Jokic won the league's top individual honor for a second straight season, becoming the 15th player to win at least two league Most Valuable Player awards.

He became eligible for the supermax when he won the first of his two NBA Most Valuable Player awards. To be eligible for the supermax, a player must have been named to an All-NBA team in the most recent season or two prior seasons, or have won the league's Most Valuable Player award in any of the past three years.

Jokic has become arguably the greatest passing big man in the history of the sport, operating as a point guard for the Denver Broncos.

Jokic was the 41st pick in the NBA draft. After a year in the league, he became an important part of Denver's plans and blossomed into an All-Star.

Jokic's ascent to All-Star status the past four seasons has coincided with Denver rocketing up the Western Conference table and making the playoffs four times in a row.

Jokic and the Denver Broncos are hoping to make it to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history with the addition of Murray and Porter Jr.

Denver lost in the second round to the Phoenix Suns in 2021, and in the first round to the Golden State Warriors this past season because of Murray's absence.

The Denver Broncos traded guards Monte Morris and Will Barton to the Washington Wizards in exchange for guards Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith.
