The buildings and landscapes on Snake Island were destroyed after Ukrainian forces drove out the Russians.

The island, located in the Black Sea, was the location where a young Ukrainian guard told an incoming Russian ship to "go fuck yourself" in the first days of the invasion.

Russia confirmed on Thursday that it had left the island, although they failed to set up a military base there. A successful missile campaign had driven them out of the country, according to the Ukrainians.

There is a satellite photo of Snake Island.

The brown patches that cover much of the island are from burned agriculture. Buildings were destroyed in the center of the island.

Multiple structures that lead to the sea are smoking and collapsing on the northern tip of the island.

It's not clear if the structures that were destroyed were set up by Russians or if they were all destroyed by the Ukrainians.
