Gary Harris has agreed on a two-year, $26 million contract extension, according to his agents.
The Magic said they had reached an extension with Harris.
Harris is one of the better guard defenders in the NBA and reestablished his 3-point shot this past season with the rebuilding Magic. It's the third-best percentage of Harris' career and his best since his fourth NBA season.
Harris was sent to the Magic as part of the trade that sent Gordon to the Nuggets. He played out the last year and a half of his previous deal with the Magic, giving a young squad a veteran voice.
I've seen things grow. Harris said it had been great. Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley and the entire coaching staff do a great job of teaching these young guys and the vets we try to do a good job of helping these guys out as well. Young men are willing to learn. They are interested in learning. They would like to be great. They would like to win.
In addition to his improved 3-point shooting, the Michigan State product finished last season with an average of 11 points per game, on 43.4% shooting overall and 87.4% from the free throw line.
