According to two sources, an associate of a former White House chief of staff warned Cassidy Hutchinson not to cooperate with the House Select Committee on January 6.

The ex-White House aide gave public testimony.

The second warning that the select committee disclosed at the end of its special hearing was about how Donald Trump directed a crowd he knew was armed to march on the Capitol.

Someone told me that you have a deposition tomorrow. He wants me to tell you that he is thinking about you. He knows you're loyal, and you'll do the right thing when you go in for your deposition According to the sources, the redaction was calledMeadows.

Liz Cheney, the panel's vice-chair, characterized the message as improper pressure on a crucial witness that could lead to illegal witness tampering or intimidation.

The exact identity of the person who sent Hutchinson the message was not confirmed on Thursday, but that may be because the select committee might want to interview that person.

It's possible that the person who sent the message was a close associate of the former White House chief of staff who may have seen what Trump and Meadows were up to.

A spokesman for Hutchinson didn't respond to a request for comment.

The other message was directed at Hutchinson, the sources said, and the quote on the slide was one of several calls from Trump allies.

They told me that if I continue to be a team player, they will know that I am doing the right thing.

As I went through my depositions and interviews with the committee, they reminded me a couple of times that Trump reads transcripts to keep that in mind.

The identity of the people who called Hutchinson, warning her not to implicate the former president, could not be established because they were people close to Trump.

It was reported that the message to Hutchinson came before her second interview with the committee. Hutchinson had four depositions before her public testimony.
