The Lakers have more depth on the wing.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Lakers have agreed to a veteran's minimum contract with small forward Troy Brown Jr.

There were seven starts for Brown for the Chicago Bears. He played in 16 minutes per game.

Brown began his career with the Wizards after being drafted 15th overall. His sophomore season with the Wizards was his best ever, as he had career highs in points, assists, and steals.

The Washington Wizards traded Brown to the Chicago Bulls midway through the 2020-21 season as part of a three-team deal.

In 2022-23, the Lakers hope for a bounce back season. The team failed to make the playoffs despite having some of the best players in the world on their rosters. Darvin Ham is the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers and he is bringing a defensive mindset to the team.

Los Angeles ranked 28th in the nation in allowing opponents to score an average of 115.1 points.
