The former top aide to White House chief of staff MarkMeadows has more courage than most of his Republican colleagues according to GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger.
One of the two Republicans on the House committee investigating the January 6 insurrection said that Cassidy Hutchinson is a hero and a real patriot.
They will attempt to bully and intimidate her. She isn't afraid. Kinzinger said that Hutchinson was more courage than most Republicans.
Hutchinson offered damning testimony to the House committee investigating January 6, when former President Donald Trump's supporters violently invaded the Capitol as lawmakers met to certify President Joe Biden's electoral college victory.
She said that Trump lunged at the agent and tried to grab the wheel of the SUV. The scene of the riot was not where Trump was going to go.
Tony Ornato, the White House deputy chief of staff, remembered the altercation to her right after it happened, according to Hutchinson.
The head of Mr. Trump's security detail looked a little lost. I looked at Tony and he asked if I heard what happened in thebeast. I asked Tony what happened.
Tony told me that Bobby had more information about the off-the-record movement to the Capitol than Mr.Meadows had. The president thought that he and Bobby were going to the Capitol. When Bobby told the president that we weren't able to do it, he had a very angry response.
Trump said something to the effect of, "I'm the effing president, take me up to the Capitol now." Bobby replied, "Sir, we have to go back to the West Wing."
Some of Trump's supporters who attended his speech near the White House on January 6 were armed, but they did not care. According to her testimony, Trump suggested that metal detectors be removed in order to fill the crowd space.
"He wanted it full and he was angry that we weren't letting people through with weapons," Hutchinson said.
I overheard the president say something to the effect of "I don't care that they have weapons". They are here to help me. The mags should be taken away. My people can go to the Capitol from here. People should be allowed in. Hutchinson said to take the mags away.
The rallygoers were encouraged to march on the Capitol and "fight like hell" by Trump. He was impeached for a second time because of his role in fomenting the deadly insurrection at the Capitol.
Hutchinson was called a third rate social climber by Trump. While her statements on January 6 were delivered under oath, the former president criticized Hutchinson in online commentary.
