The agent for Lu Dort said that his client has agreed to a five-year, $87.5 million deal with the Oklahoma CityThunder.

Dort, who is considered one of the NBA's best wing defenders, became a starter for Oklahoma City's playoff team in the playoffs after signing with the Thunder as an undrafted free agent. Before the league's 2020 restart, Dort's contract was converted to a four year minimum deal.

The Oklahoma City franchise did not pick up the team option for 2022-23, allowing Dort to become a restricted free agent and negotiate a new deal to stay in Oklahoma City.

Dort has started 131 of the 141 games that he has played in for the Thunder, and he has averaged 13.3 points, 3.5 rebound and 1.5 assists per game in his career.

Over the past two seasons, Dort has had the ability to expand his offensive game. He averaged a career-best 17.2 points per game in 2021, but was shut down for the season in February due to a shoulder injury.
