According to The Athletic and Stadium's Shams Charania, the San Antonio Spurs pulled the qualifying offer they made to Lonnie Walker IV, which will make him a free agent.
Walker is expected to bring in a strong market. It's not clear which teams would like to sign the Miami product.
If the Spurs had kept the offer on Walker, he would have been a restricted free agent this year, and San Antonio would have been able to match any offer opposing teams made to him.
Since being drafted by the Spurs in the 18th round, the young man has improved every season. He scored 2.6 points per game in 17 games.
Walker became the team's sixth man after the Spurs traded White to the Celtics.
With Walker expected to sign with a new team, it will be interesting to see how San Antonio addresses some of its more significant needs through free agency.
