According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the leaguewide chatter about a potential Brooklyn Nets roster explosion had mostly dissipated since Kyrie Irving picked up his $36.5 million player option Monday afternoon.

There is a chance that the Los Angeles Lakers could land Irving.

Two teams were often repeated to Bleacher Report by league figures as the All- NBA forward's preferred destinations: the Phoenix

Sources told B/R that Brooklyn did not entertain rival inquiries for Durant earlier this week, but Nets personnel made it clear that Brooklyn's asking price would be massive in the case of a request to move. If Dejounte Murray drew two protected first-round picks, plus a third first-round pick and an additional pick swap, how much should KD be worth?

The transaction could very well become one of the largest blockbusters in the NBA's history.

Despite Irving's recommitment to Brooklyn, league sources continued to whisper about Irving's desire to get back together with his friend and teammate, James. For that to happen, the Lakers would have to find a third or even fourth team that would be willing to absorb Russell's salary and still find players to compensate Brooklyn for Irving.

Irving might be able to find a way to Los Angeles while the Nets look at every option.

One team cap strategist said that this gave the Lakers their best chance.

According to sources in Brooklyn, there's no deal to land KD in Phoenix that doesn't include sending Booker back to Brooklyn. The line would probably be held by the Suns. Early indications are that the Nets won't be taking a sign-and-trade that brings back Deandre Ayton.

Brooklyn's request would begin with Adebayo. If Adebyo or Brooker were to be taken back, there would be a lot of worms. League rules prohibit teams from rostering two designated rookies-scale-contract players acquired via trade, so Brooklyn could not acquire Adebayo or Booker.

Simmons might need to find a new place if Brooklyn's best offer comes from Miami.

Pick their best player under 30 years old, name a potential trade partner, and see where an offer for KD would begin. The Anthony Davis package landed in New Orleans in 2019.

According to NBA sources with knowledge of the situation, Golden State is not a realistic option for KD. The Warriors don't have a package of win-now pieces that would make Brooklyn want them.

The Nets won't have to give in to the wishes of the man. Brooklyn will look for one of the largest compensation packages for a superstars in NBA history. Sources told B/R that the Nets want to contend for a title.
