Kevin Durant wants to be traded from the Brooklyn Nets, and there's a chance he could be traded with Kyrie Irving.

It's a scenario that's going to appeal to them. They want to play. The sense is that they don't want to do it in Brooklyn anymore, even though they want to.

According to Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic, the superstar requested a trade on Thursday and has four years left on his contract. Three days after Irving said he would opt in to the last year of his contract in Brooklyn, the decision was made.

After Monday's decision, the Nets didn't hear from the two players.

The time between the two free agents hasn't gone as planned. The team lost in the second round of the playoffs in 2021.

Irving and the organization couldn't agree on a contract extension.

The point guard's treatment of his teammates and coaches needs to be fixed before next season, according to Brian Windhorst.

The duo could start fresh in a new location and try to live up to expectations if they were to trade with each other. With a combined 19 All-Star selections, there is no doubt any team would be a favorite to win the title in 2023.

This type of deal would be hard to do.

It will be hard to fit in a trade or the next team's salary cap with the combined $81 million that KD and Irving will make over the next two decades. After missing 53 games last season, Irving doesn't have the same draw as KD, and an organization would have to want both of them. The Los Angeles Lakers were the only team interested in Irving, according to a previous report.

The Nets are still looking for the best path forward.
