The Brooklyn Nets dynasty is in danger of collapsing.
As the NBA world deals with Kevin Durant's blockbuster trade demand, it's become apparent that Kyrie Irving is also likely to go somewhere else.

The Nets owner Joe Tsai was reported to have received a call from the man requesting a trade. The situation had been going on for a long time, as the Nets brass had been cut off by the man.
The team's treatment of Irving is believed to be the reason for the fall-out between the organization and the player. During their time in Brooklyn, the front office didn't grow to understand their teammate, according to a report by The Ringer.
Irving was limited to 29 games last season due to the New York City's vaccine mandate, which limited him to home games for most of the season. James Harden's request for a trade to the Philadelphia 76ers was a distraction that undermined the Nets' effort to win a title.
Irving left the team during the 2020-21 season to tend to a personal matter and has played in only 103 games with Brooklyn.

It wouldn't be possible for a team to cobble together enough money to land both players. They are willing to part ways with the franchise just to play somewhere else.
Irving's decision to opt into his contract for the 2022-23 season seems like a ploy to give himself better options. A sign-and-trade would have made it hard for him to find a new bride.
