Disney+ has wrapped up Lucasfilm's Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor is in the works for the Star Wars franchise. Fans of the TV show can get their next fix through a few games.

The Star Wars license was mishandled and wasted due to being chained to a gaming publisher, but games from both the pre- and post- Disney eras have paved the way for some unforgettable and entertaining video games. Knights of the Old Republic is a great adventure for hardcore fans, but some modern entries have earned warm reception from fans and helped broaden the Star Wars catalog.

The first Star Wars game under the control of the publisher was Respawn Entertainment. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a game that is similar to Disney+'s recent series. The story is set in between Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV - A New Hope with the main character, Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis, trying to escape the Empire before being inevitably entangled with them.

Cal is somewhat bland, but he and his supporting cast shine through as the story progresses and the game has a solid foundation of action- adventure, Metroidvania, and Souls-like elements. Next year, fans should be looking out for Jedi: Survivor.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available on a number of video game consoles.

Star Wars Battlefront II

One of the best Star Wars games of all time was the Battlefront games. It was exciting to hear that DICE was in charge of a remake, but goodwill was already beginning to erode by the time the first game was released. The launch of Battlefront II was one of the worst video game launches of all time.

The devs at DICE should be thanked for spending the next two years adding DLC and polishing the game into a really good one. The third-person shooter/action game was given more depth and accessibility in order to turn it into a good game.

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast II is a game that has been looked back on with nostalgia. It pushed forward the idea of lightsaber combat and physics in a real-time action setting.

Kyle Katarn, a character who was set aside in Lucasfilm'sLegends timeline, is the focus of Jedi Outcast. Jedi Outcast's combat is clunky by today's standards, but those willing to dive into gaming generations past should have a great time.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is one of the best Star Wars games of all time. Similar to the Jedi Outcast, both of these games have been pushed away from mainline canon and intoLegends, as well as showing their ages.

The approach to a Star Wars-themed game will be engaging and long for die-hard fans of the series. They feature some of the most compelling writing in a Star Wars game, and the ability to shape your own Jedi or Sith makes it all the more enjoyable. The team at Aspyr helped port these games to modern hardware, as well as the upcoming Knights of the Old Republic remake for PS5 and PC.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will satisfy for a fun and casual experience, even if you don't like Star Wars. The developer nailed their Lego video game formula and gave the game a Star Wars-themed coat of paint.

The entire Skywalker Saga's stories can be played through levels, which can be unlocked by players. The other half of the game is the addictive co-op.
