The University of Southern California and the University of California, Los Angeles are in discussions to move their storied athletic programs from the Pacific-12 to the Big Ten conference, according to multiple reports.

According to reports, USC and UCLA could play in the Big Ten as early as the year 2024.

Some of the most renowned athletic programs on the West Coast can be found at the universities located in Los Angeles.

The Big Ten is historically a Midwestern conference but the addition of USC and UCLA would make it a coast to coast league.

Representatives for UCLA and USC didn't reply to requests from Forbes.

USC and UCLA are not far away from the University of Nebraska. Los Angeles is more than 1,200 miles away from the home of the university.

A total of $92 million. According to Forbes' most recent "College Football's Most Valuable Teams" list, USC's football program is the main source of revenue.

Key Background

The Big Ten and the SEC would be home to 20 of the 25 most valuable college football programs. Over the past 10 years, the two conferences have added many high-power programs that played in smaller conferences. When the University of Texas and University of Oklahoma accepted bids to join the SEC, it was one of the most significant changes in college sports history. The second and sixth most valuable college football programs are Texas and Oklahoma.

The Athletic reported that USC and UCLA are talking about leaving the Pac-12 for the Big Ten.
