USC and UCLA are reportedly set to join the Big Ten.

The regional conferences are over. The Big Ten Conference is rumored to be home to USC and UCLA. The power shift from the Power Five Conference model to the Big Ten or SEC was reported on Thursday.

USC and UCLA joined the conference before 1930 and have stayed there ever since. The Big Ten will increase its membership to 16 schools, tying the next iteration of the SEC, which is bringing in Texas and Oklahoma from the Big 12.

The Longhorns and Sooners decided to bolt for the SEC in July of last year. The Big Ten has become the first conference to have a manifest destiny after the USC and Bruins switch. It was drawn up by the 19th century American settlers.

This is not a good place to live. Nebraska is USC and UCLA's next conference opponent. It takes 1,500 miles from Los Angeles to Lincoln. It's a minimum. If you want to play a conference game, try being Rutgers or Maryland. We need to know how it is best for the players to recover with longer flights and less time to prepare. You can take a one-way trip to the L.A. Memorial Coliseum.

The Big 12 announced its new commissioner the same week that UCLA and USC were reported to be leaving the conference. The departure of Oklahoma and Texas will be replaced by UFC, Cincinnati, Houston and BYU. If they are still playing checkers, their future is irrelevant. The SEC and Big Ten play chess.
