The Detroit Pistons are close to a deal with Kemba Walker, according to a report.

On the day after the NBA draft last week, Walker went from New York to Detroit in a three-team trade between the Pistons, Knicks and Hornets.

The Pistons obtained the draft rights to Duren. The Denver Nugget's first-round selection is one of the five picks the Hornets picked up.

The Knicks traded center Nerlens Noel and wing Alec Burks to the Pistons as part of the move. The New York metropolitan area is rumored to be interested in the Dallas Mavericks player.

Walker was in and out of the rotation last season and didn't play after February 16.

His field- goal percentage of 40.3 percent was his worst since the 2014-15 season, and he played a career low 28.6 minutes per game.

The Knicks didn't get much return on their investment after signing Walker.

After a stellar collegiate career at the University of Connecticut, Kemba Walker was selected ninth overall in the NBA draft by the Charlotte Hornets.

He averaged 20 or more points per game in four of his five NBA seasons, including a career-high 28.6 in the last one.

Walker earned an All-Star nod in his first season with the Celtics after moving to Boston as part of a sign-and-trade deal.

During his 11-year NBA career, he has played in 731 regular-season games and averaged 19.5 points, 5.3 assists, 3.8 rebound, 2.2 three-pointers made and 1.2 steals.

If he is willing to come off the bench, Walker could still be an offensive spark plug for a team that needs some scoring punch.

He's an excellent shooter and can score in bunches, so he shouldn't have a hard time finding a new place to play.
