We may be working our way through the year of 2022, but that doesn't mean that the offerings of new and returning sci-fi TV shows aren't plentiful. We have been waiting a long time for some of the highly anticipated titles that are yet to hit our screens. They are on their way. We have a list of upcoming sci-fi TV shows that you can add to your calendar.

We have already seen some amazing sci-fi TV shows in the year 2022, from Obi-Wan to Moon Knight, and they all bring new experiences, action-packed scenes, and storyline that are out of this world. There is still more where that came from. The MCU continues to provide, Star Wars spin-offs resume their expansion of the already rich universe, and book to TV adaptation promises big things for TV viewers across the globe.

Stranger Things (Season 4, Part 2)

Is the show about a group of people in a small town filled with sci-fi or horror? We can say that season 4 has been the most gripping yet and if anything happens to our beloved babysitter, Steve, then we will riot!

Small-town adolescents are split up and faced with their own demons, whether it is a mean high school bully, overwhelming mental health, or an actual demon. It has been fascinating to watch with the addition of Eddie Munson.

We will have to wait until July 1, 2022, to see the conclusion of the fourth season of Stranger Things, due to the fact that the first part was released in May of that year.

Paper Girls

Paper Girls is a movie based on a comic book series of the same name. The group are thrown into a sci-fi adventure after stumbling on a time machine. Between adventures in the 20th and 21st century, the Paper Girls will come face-to-face with their grown up selves. While trying to find the answer to the overarching question of whether the past can and should be changed by future time travelers.

The Sandman

We have a show from DC comic books. Neil Gaiman is the author of Good Omens and American Gods. There is a lot of hype surrounding this one, but it is not on the big screen. Along with a cast list full of big names, Tom Sturridge is taking on the role of The Sandman. Only the first few comic books will be adapted for the show. There's a lot to this story that can't be explained in a short summary, but it will take viewers through space and time.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

We are not done with one more from Phase Four yet. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is going to be a part of the team. The origin story of She-Hulk, also known as Tatiana Maslany, is based on a blood donation from Bruce Banner.

She-Hulk is able to retain parts of her human persona even though she is a superhero. She-Hulk almost made it to the big screen in the 90s but was scrapped. We are waiting for her to arrive on Disney Plus.

Andor

Five years before the events of the film, Andor picks up the story of a rebel spy named Andor. Diego Luna will reprise his role as Andor in the Andor origin story, so be prepared for a tense, nail-biting spy tale.

It will be 12 episodes long and will be released on August 31, 2022.

Doom Patrol (season 4)

There is a superhero show from DC that has a twist. Each superhero has come to a point in their lives where they have found themselves with abilities but only due to a terrible accident. They are an unlikely set of heroes considering they are each traumatised and ostracized from society, but they are still able to use their powers to become heroes. With three seasons of battles and personal discoveries under its belt, Doom Patrol will return to the Max series in 2022.

Marvel’s Secret Invasion

After meeting for the first time in Captain Marvel, Nick and Skrull will meet again in Secret Invasion. The pair will explore the Skrulls who seem to have been infiltrating Earth for a long time. Secret Invasion, which stars Cobie Smulders as Commander Maria Hill, is expected to premiere on Disney+ later this year.

The Imperfects

Three twenty-somethings are thrown into turmoil as they are turned into monsters by an evil scientist against their will during an experiment. The imperfects were formed. A group of girls deal with all the drama of teenage life as well as tackling a monster that leaves them with powers. It is an original sci-fi series that is set to be a full throttle, action- adventure, monster sci-fi. The scientist that hurt the Imperfects will be hunted down by the government agency that pursued them.

The Three-Body Problem

The novel of the same name is the basis of a sci-fi adaptation for the streaming platform. The Three-Body Problem looks at space and time and aliens. A scientist discovers a secret that puts him under military scrutiny. He goes into a virtual reality game called Three-Body to find the truth. The story spans a number of timelines, jumping backwards, forwards, and remaining in the present-day throughout. There is a cast list full of big names. We might be able to add this one to our best sci-fi TV shows.

The Witcher: Blood Origin

Blood Origin is a six part mini-series that takes place 1,200 years before Geralt of Rivia. While exploring the demise of the ancient elven civilization, monsters, men, and elves unite and reveal the beginnings of the very first Witcher. The streaming platform is expected to get The Witcher: Blood Origin later in the year of 2022. There are a lot of new characters in the trailer, with big action scenes set to the backdrop of some amazing scenery.

The Mandalorian (Season 3)

Everyone's favorite little guy, Baby Yoda, will be back for the third season. The second season of Mando left viewers wanting more. The Book of Boba Fett is a Star Wars spin-off that has been releasing episodes in the meantime.

It has been said that The Book of Boba Fett is a bridge between the second and third season of The Mandalorian.

Ahsoka

Ahsoka, a Mando spin-off, is one of the new Star Wars content that will be available on Disney+ in the years to come. Fans of Star Wars: The Clones Wars animated TV series were very excited to learn that Ahsoka Tano will get her own series in the ever expanding Star Wars universe, and rightfully so, as she is a badass. There isn't much known about the plot so far, but that doesn't mean there isn't a story to tell. We know that the actor who played Obi-Wan in the movie is back in a different role. It's almost time to see what Ahsoka can do when thrust into the spotlight.

The Rangers of the New Republic

The Rangers of the New Republic is a spinoff of the Star Wars universe. This new live-action series comes again from the minds of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, but this time viewers are promised a tale that will "Intersect with future stories and climax into a final story event."

There are rumors that the show is not currently in development and may be canceled or merged with another show. Gina Carano was fired from her role as Cara Dune as a result of her social media posts.
