A British documentary filmmaker testified behind closed doors to the House and said that former President Donald Trump's claims about voter fraud are "delusional."
Donald Trump is not smart. Alex said in an interview with the Yahoo News that he wasn't really a skullduggery. It's not possible to have a conversation with him in the same way that you can have a conversation with most other people. He is a different kind of person.
In the months before and after the 2020 election, Holder was granted exclusive access to Trump and his family, giving him the opportunity to record over 100 hours of footage of the former president and his family. He was subpoenaed by the select committee because they wanted to find footage of the Trumps talking candidly about events that are the subject of the investigation.
Even though there is no evidence to back up his claims, the former president believes his assertions about voter fraud affecting the election even though there is no evidence to back them up. He said that the then president was certain there would be violence on that day.
It wasn't hard to see. He was the last one. He had an idea that if he interfered in the process of certifying the results that President Biden wouldn't get inaugurated.
The interview with the hosts of "Skullduggery" was edited.
How did you get into this in the first place? How did you find out about the Trumps?
The person who introduced me to the Trump family was the one who had been building this documentary. They were very confident they were going to win the election and so they agreed to participate. The arrogance was amazing. They were pretty sure it would be the same as last year. It would be a huge surprise. "Let's make liberals cry again" was one of the big lines used by Don Jr.
Isikoff wanted to know what your pitch was to Trump.
The pitch was to know who they were. They had complained about the coverage they were getting in the US. Let us understand who they are. I am talking about Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and their interactions with their father, as well as the interactions they have with each other. It is a real-life succession drama, and it has this, like, "Succession"-type vibe in the project.
Did you observe their answers changing over time? You started filming in September 2020 and finished in January 2021. Their answers may have changed.
They didn't That was quite surprising. The events that took place just before they left office did not register with me. He said he didn't want to talk about January 6th. He said to skip this shit.
Isikoff asked about Trump. He says the people who came to Washington on January 6 were smart people who were angry with the election.
I'm pretty sure I heard that clip hundreds of times. Every single time I hear it, I get goose bumps. I don't think he said anything good. He said at the end of the day that they went into the Capitol because they thought the election was stolen. Who told them that the election was fraudulent?
Why has Trump refused to accept the results of the election?
Donald Trump isn't a rational person. He just isn't. It is not possible to have a conversation with him in the same way that you can have a conversation with most other people. Someone is living in a different reality. He had lied about the election in the past. After interviewing him in the White House, I saw that he had become a person who believed in his own lie. You can't debate that person because they are so dangerous. Nobody can convince Donald Trump that he is incorrect. The series goes into this because he will never accept that he did anything wrong. He will always return the favor. It is always someone else's fault if he is correct. He lives in the clouds. He said that in front of a portrait, he painted an oil painting of himself in a golf outfit. I inquired about that at the end of the interview. I wanted to know about the painting. This man has paintings of himself in his house. He is not a normal person. You know?
