In the late 80's, a group of teen girls encounter a band of teenage boys who don't look like they're from their town. As the group is thrust into danger and into the future when they find a time machine in a basement, they don't know who to trust. The girls get to know each other while on the run from two different time travel groups.
The ‘80s energy is similar to that of a tough kid as they encounter squad, sent by the "Old Timers," of militarized time cops set on seizing them in order to restore the timeline order. Teens bent on breaking time-travel rules who claim to want to help them but are more likely to lead them towards more danger are the ones they run into. As the out-of-time girls investigate clues to find out how to get back to their childhoods, she takes it upon herself to protect them.
The character the comic follows in its first volume is calledErin Tang. She was the new girl in town on her first morning on the paper delivery route when she met other paper girls. They don't get off on the right foot as she abrasively fights with boys and needs some saving when the other girls step in. Mac was the first paper delivery girl and is the defacto leader of the group who look after each other in the wee hours of the morning. Yes, in short. After his time on Runaways, Brian K. Vaughan wanted to write a female-centered take on a sci-fi coming of age story. The result is a time-travel mystery that is reminiscent of Back to the Future films. It is illustrated and published by image comics. On October 7, 2015, it started and ended on July 31, 2019. The show will use the first 10 issues for the first season.
Paper Girls is going to be on Prime Video weekly. The series was adapted by Stephany Folsom, who is also on the streamer's upcoming hot property The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, but stepped down last year.
