Sarah Kellen was found to be responsible for the sex-trafficking scheme.
The witnesses at Ghislaine's trial said Kellen had sex with him.
Kellen has said that she is a victim.
There were a lot of names in Ghislaine Maxwell's trial last year.
According to witnesses, Sarah Kellen was one of the women who helped facilitate the sexual abuse of teenage girls.
Several witnesses said that Kellen was a part of the sex-trafficking scheme. She started working in the office building on the Upper East Side in 2002. The private pilot said she worked as a personal assistant for both of the men.
She arranged for his victims to be on his jets. According to witnesses, Kellen arranged for Epstein to rape his victims. One of the victims in the trial testified that Kellen took nude photos of her before a sexualized massage appointment and that she was paid hundreds of dollars for it.
Kellen's name came up again in court on Tuesday, during a hearing where a judge sentenced a man to 20 years in prison
Nathan said that Kellen was a criminal responsible for her part in the sex-trafficking scheme.
Nathan said that the lady of the house was the woman who was the second person in line to the throne. Some of the defendants duties were taken over by Kellen. The leader retained her position even after that time.
The courthouse where Maxwell was sentenced is a short walk from Kellen's place of residence.
She was photographed in SoHo on Friday by photographers for The Daily Mail which reported that she lives in a $5.2 million penthouse with her husband. Kellen has used the names of two other people. She has a $6.2 million duplex in Miami.
There are no criminal charges against Kellen.
She wasn't called as a witness in the trial because her lawyers argued that her client was a scapegoat. Prosecutors were considering charges against her.
In an interview with The Sun in 2020, Kellen said she was a victim of the man.
The criminal conspiracy's scope was illustrated by Kellen's involvement in the case at the Tuesday hearing.
She was arranging for massage appointments and calling victims when she was younger. The structure and hierarchy of the scheme were changed as the scheme shifted. A close associate of the defendants. She traveled with them and Kellen a lot. The leader of the conspiracy was higher up in the leadership structure as Kellen took on some of the tasks.
Kellen wasn't reachable for comment.
The non-prosecution agreement she was named in was made with federal prosecutors in Florida. Prosecutors agreed not to pursue charges against Kellen and three other female employees.
The compensation fund established after Epstein died in jail while awaiting trial on his own set of sex-trafficking charges refused to "carve out" Kellen from its release form, which protects her from civil litigation from anyone who took money from the program.
More than 200 of his victims were identified by the compensation program.
Nathan disagreed with the argument that the non-prosecution agreement in Florida would protect her from federal charges. It's not known if her ruling would apply to any other charges federal prosecutors in Manhattan might bring.
According to Insider, one of the former assistants named in the non-prosecution agreement will not be charged. In civil lawsuits that have since been dropped, Groff has been portrayed as one of the people who helped Epstein.
One of her victims, Annie Farmer, told reporters that she hoped the 20-year sentence would send a message to her abusers.
Farmer hopes that this sentence is a sign that victims are coming together. You will be punished for these crimes. You will be punished if you allow these crimes to happen. You will not be put in a position of power if you look the other way.
