Atari is 50 years old and to celebrate, the company has collaborated with the retro game experts at Digital Eclipse on a new anniversary collection. The Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration has a somewhat unwieldy title and sounds more involved than a classic game bundle. There will be more than 90 games in Atari 50, including six new titles that are inspired by the classics, as well as archival photos, images, and even interviews.
The studio has made a name for itself with thoughtful, well-executed classics like the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, The Disney Afternoon Collection, and the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. Digital Eclipse was always Atari's first choice when it came to bringing classics back or doing any kind of remake, according to the company's CEO.
The PS4 and PS5 are expected to be the first modern platforms to get Atari 50 in November.
