If you're older than 19 you can identify what a classic, high-end Juno synthesizer sounds like. It will cost you money, time, and possibly aggravation if you try to find that vintage sound by haggling with weird people on the internet.
The Aira synthesizer line is small, affordable, and portable. They can be used with an audio interface to record classic-sounding hits, or you can sync them up without a laptop. They are cheaper than a Macbook Air.
Music production gear has been democratizing for a long time. The top 10 singles have been made in bedrooms and home studios for decades, and producers like Finneas are making hits with gear that costs as much as a single day's studio rental did in the early 1980s. The Aira is the latest line to step into the land of old-school instruments for less than the price of a Walkman.
The 1980s were called.

There are plastic cases with orange, blue, and pink backs. If you want to take these off the grid, you can use a 3.5mm Midi in and out port next to the smallusb-c port.
Two 3.5-mm sync ports are on top of each unit and can be used to pair with other units in time. You can play them all at the same time. There is a volume knob on the upper right of each unit.
They became their own distinct digital instruments below that. I don't know how to use them but here's what they do.
The T-8 is a drum machine with a lot of sounds, but it is also a 32 step drum machine. Controls for bass drum, snare, hi-hat, toms, and hand claps are included. You can add a musical instrument. If you like the sound of ’80s radio beats, you will find them here, as well as more than enough tuning and customization features to write any kind of music.
